Abstract:
The elderly have a high proportion of sleep disorders, such as insomnia, circadian rhythm sleep disorder, sleep apnea, and periodic leg movement. However, the association of decline in physical and mental functions due to aging, other diseases, or environmental factors may contribute to the comorbidities, and it is not easy to distinguish from sleep disorders. The standard polysomnography diagnosis traditionally performed in a hospital is not suitable for environmentally sensitive elderly people. Therefore, in this talk, we will examine the applicability and challenges of various new technologies, including products with wireless technology, wearable technology, or artificial intelligence in monitoring sleep disorders for the elderly.
