Abstract:
Human behaviors and physiology can now be continuously monitored through a wide range of wearable and mobile technologies. Beyond traditional actigraphy, novel parameters capturing the regularity and variability of minute-to-minute, hourly, and day-to-day patterns have been developed. These measures have been associated with diverse health outcomes, including cancer, cardiovascular disease, and mood disorders. This talk will highlight how long-term physiological and behavioral data streams can be transformed into digital biomarkers of sleep and circadian health, and how these markers may inform individualized, risk-based care. Furthermore, multimodal signals such as photoplethysmography (PPG), electrocardiography (ECG), and smartphone usage data can be integrated to enhance early risk detection and enable more precise, personalized interventions.
